PEMF and Bone + Cartilage Cellular Signaling

The Vincenzi study is highly relevant to musculoskeletal applications because researchers examined human chondrocytes and osteoblasts.

PEMF increased A2A and A3 adenosine receptor expression and enhanced their anti-inflammatory effects. In osteoblasts, PEMF exposure also increased production of osteoprotegerin (OPG), an important regulator of bone remodeling.

Summary: PEMF Influences Bone & Cartilage Cell Signaling
PEMF has been shown experimentally to influence signaling pathways in osteoblasts and chondrocytes involved in inflammation and bone metabolism.
